[News] “MC-gayo” instead of “Inkigayo”? IU’s cute slip of the tongue cracks everyone up

U had an adorable slip of the tongue on Inkigayo today.

On the SBS ‘Inkigayo Summer Special’ that was broadcasted on June 26th, before 2PM’s comeback stage, the MCs held a short interview with them.

To introduce their new song, ‘Hands Up’, 2PM sang a short part of the chorus as fanservice. IU then asked the 2PM ‘Inkigayo’ MC-sunbaes what score they would give the current MCs.

But while posing the question, IU accidentally blurted “MC-gayo” instead of “Inkigayo”. She quickly corrected her error and asked, “As our ‘Inkigayo’ MC-sunbaes, what score would you give us?”

Taecyeon replied, “10 points out of 10” and “Having such an adorable slip of the tongue is really good”, smiling at how cute IU was.

[News] Lee Ji Soo music director, “IU’s voice is well-suited for animations”.

Lee Ji Soo is the music director for “Leafie, A Hen into the Wild” movie OST, which IU participated in (although for some reason, someone else’s version was recorded for the OST album).

In a recent interview with Osen, Lee Ji Soo expressed, “I was wondering to myself who I could entrust this task to and the people around me recommended IU, so it was thus decided. The tone of her voice seemed to go well with the animation. She managed to sing it well after just a few attempts, so I thought to myself that she picks things up really quickly.”

[Trans] Q & A from IU's 1st Fanmeeting

Q.1) You're now a famous star in korea, but if you have a dream want to achieve, what is it?

A: Well, i want to make my special album, which is composed of “only” my own songs as soon as quickly.

Q.2) What do you think about your fans?
A: It is so hard to define a one word… but without fans, there is no star. so if fans dont exist, IU CANNOT exist neither. (comment:wow..what a great interview.. she is a REAL star..)

Q.3) What kind of action of fans makes you feel high?
A: On sunday, i’m taking charge of inkigayo MC. you know, sunday is end of a weekend, so i feel tired a bit but when im entering at stage i see a huge placard hanged in the middle saying, “Lets focus on IU!” or when i see fans who cheer me at there. im feeling much better.

Q.4) What do you do before going to bed?
A: i used to write diarys but now i watch a movie. yesterday i watched “be with you”(comment:Japanese movie). i want to recommend is “Ponyo on the cliff”(comment:Japanese animation. her favorite movie style is Japanese style? lol) i really like that~

Q.5) How do you relieve a tension before playing on big stage?
A: Unusally, i feel tense more on small stage than big stage. i guess on small stage, i can see so many faces clearly. i warm up at a backstage,(comment:and she makes weird sound like dolphins LOL) and i pray sometimes.

Q.6) Do you have your own “know-how” to manage your fans?
A: Hmm…(many people at there shout somewhat unquite sure) i think you know the answer already.. What is it? ‘a bunch of audiences said “Jo-ryun! Jo-ryun U!’(cm:”Jo-ryun means “tame” in eng lol) Jo-ryun?? Do I? how? ‘someone say “wink!!”’ ohhh… i see.. i wink frequently when i feel tense~ (cm:And some people request to her to wink then she did for audience. lol)

Q.7) Do you press “cheer” button when you go to “U-ae-na”(cm:offical fan cafe)? what do you do there?
A: I think i did that 2~3 times lol.(cm:”cheer” button is cafe widget which has the function to cheer one’s star to compete in the star ranking) i pressed it when i was ranked around 17th but now that i ranked around top 10(cm:she is 7th now), so i dont click on it anymore.(cm:hmm…really?? =P) and i visit “2030 board” often.(cm:Its a free board, made for adults.) because there are many good posts about me, so i can get a clear view of the feedback from my works. and there are many people give advices to me. and “of course” i access many many other boards and sites too~ (cm:but i guess she dosent enter here coz her english is limited…¡_¡)

Q.8) When do you feel you made a great choice of becoming a singer?
A: When Corinne Bailey Rae(cm:you know, IU’s favorite singer) came to korea for a concert, i was a guest and was asked to sing opening perform, then she told me “Why dont we sing together?” i felt blessed when i heard that.. it was really really wonderful moment. i cant forget that time~

Q.9) Whats on your mind when you watch the commercials that you are in?
A) Honestly i feel embarrassed a little. i feel unfamiliar a bit, but sometimes its so fascinating so i scrutinize it. i think Galaxy S2 CF and SKT CF which i duetted with late Kwang-seok Kim singer(thanks to IT technology) is the best one.

Q.10) If you liken your music life to clock, What time is it now?
A: Well……hmm……i think its 12:00 PM. because its lunch time, so active. when i grow up more, i want to play dawn-styled, quite and peaceful music.(cm:i saw a monitor wrote by that questioner. i guess she got some misunderstanding about this question… when i saw that question at first, i think he thought “If you suppose the life of earth as one day, Human existed about a second” this saying, and want to apply that to IU.. but IU understand that a bit different way..)

Q.11) What song you want to recommend to your fans?
A: “Ki-ha Jang and Faces” new album. Songs in that album is really interesting~ “i saw a TV” M/V is really great. i hope you see that.

Q.12) When is a recent time when you did “lol”?(cm:you know, IU’s signature laugh)
A: Well.. i think i do that rarely these days. At past, when i appear on Radio, i do that many times, but i think i dont do that many times these days..(cm:thats tooooo bad…¡_¡)

Q.13) Your own song “take my hand” dominated all the music charts in korea, how do you feel about that?
A: First, i think my song got the popularity thanks to The Drama, because its a very successful drama in korea these days. and i was suprised a bit coz when i practice composition, i dont usually write this up-tempo, modern rock style song. im used to writing slow and quietly songs..so i had a difficulty to composing this song a bit, but it went so great. so i think i need to study many different music styles.

[Trans] IU’s Z_ZIN interview (on cooking, love life, music, etc.)

Z stands for ‘Z_ZIN’ and U stands for ‘IU’.

Z: (While eating ddeokbokki and soondae) Are you good at cooking? Do you cook occasionally?
U: No, but if I do, I’d probably do a good job.

Z: That means you still haven’t tried? Then, so far you’ve only tried cooking ramen?
U: Ramen, Kimchi fried rice, Bulgogi? Something like that?

Z: To be able to cook bulgogi, you should be quite good right? What was the response like when you made bulgogi?
U: They said it was delicious but… hmm… actually I don’t really know the proper way to do it. I searched for the recipe, but it tastes different depending on the conditions that day.

Z: Anyway, it was still delicious~ Whether it be in music or in pictures, having a good sense is very important. Someone with a good sense would be able to cook delicious food without really knowing how to cook.
U: That’s true. Hehehe
Z: Your real name is Ji Eun, isn’t it? How did you come up with IU??? Is it I + YOU?
U: Yes, that’s right. It’s I + YOU~. Hehe

Z: Really? How long has it been since you became IU?
U: About 3 years.

Z: Ah… it’s been awhile. Then how old were you when you debuted?
U: 3rd year of middle school.

Z: You debuted in your 3rd year of middle school? Didn’t you only appear last year?
U: Since last year, I started appearing a lot on TV. For the first year after I debuted, those were days when I was still fairly unknown. It was kind of like that. The ‘Real’ album I released this time is my 5th album and I’ve had quite a number of mini-albums. Hehe

Z: Your agency is Loen, right? How many artistes did Loen have before you signed on with them?
U: I’m the first singer though?

Z: Ah, then Loen’s first singer is IU?
U: Yes~ that’s right. Hehehe

Z: At what age did you decide to become a singer?
U: Since my 1st year of middle school~.

Z: Didn’t your family members object to it?
U: Not particularly~. They just said things like, “Are you sure you can do it~ As you wish~”.

Z: Then before that were there any singers you liked?
U: g.o.d~.

Z: How old were you then?
U: 2nd year of elementary school~.

Z: So you were interested in idols since then. Who was your favourite among the g.o.d members?
U: Kim Taewoo-oppa~ I like idols who can sing well~ Also, he was very cute then ^^.

Z: Then what’s your ideal type?
U: Not someone overly good-looking…

Z: Hold on! Why don’t you like someone good-looking?
U: I would feel like he doesn’t really belong with me. Also, someone who can be serious, but knows how to cheer others up and is humorous.

Z: Someone humorous? Ah… that’s rather difficult though.
U: But he doesn’t have to be serious all the time, he can just be serious when he’s doing his work. I prefer someone who does his own job well.

Z: Do you mean someone who loves his own job?
U: Although it’s important that he loves his job, I prefer someone who is good at it. Someone who is well-recognised for being good at his job.

Z: If you were to get into a relationship, what would you prefer boyfriend to be working as?
U: I haven’t thought that far yet. As long as he’s someone who works under the system here and someone I can communicate well with, it would be fine.

Z: In that case, singing can be a way to communicate too. Why is communication important to you?
U: Without communication, then honestly there would be no need for a singer to be popular.

Z: Who came up with the name ‘IU’?
U: Our producer~.

Z: Was there a reason he called you by that name?
U: It means you and I can become one through music.

Z: Even though you already have 5 albums, why do I get the feeling that you’re a newcomer?
U: Many people seem to think that way. Many of them think that I’m a singer who hasn’t been around for more than a year yet. Instead of someone who has already been around for as long as 3 years.

Z: So you’re doing all kinds of things, how does it feel to be reborn as IU?
U: I kind of feel like I entered a different world.

Z: How do you find it then? When you compare your previous world to your current world?
U: In a sense, it’s so strange. When I’m standing alone and singing in front of people, sometimes I feel like someone in a completely different world or that I won’t be able to understand the average person. So things have changed quite a bit. Between then and now.

Z: Ah! I see. Previously, you wanted to receive a lot of attention from people. Now that you’ve managed to get a lot of attention, are you still confident when you go up on stage?
U: Yes! I don’t seem to get stage fright!

Z: Then when did you first appear on a broadcast? You weren’t feeling nervous then either?
U: In 2008. I wasn’t feeling nervous then~.

Z: Although you’re only 19 years old now, I can say you’ve achieved a lot. Do you have any fears with regards to that?
U: Of course, I’m afraid of losing things. But recently, I don’t think I’m holding onto much stuff.

Z: Currently, is there an album you’re preparing?
U: I’m going to release my 2nd full album~.

Z: How do you wish to transform yourself in your next album?
U: Actually I don’t plan to go to that extent. I just hope this album will give people the impression that I have grown up.

Z: About growing up, as time passes, do you feel that you’ve become more matured in your way of thinking too?
U: I feel like I’ve become stronger. I don’t know if I’ve become more matured though.

Z: What does it feel like to be stronger now?
U: I don’t get hurt or irritated easily and if it’s nothing much in particular, I don’t really get shocked, I guess I’m just sort of getting into the swing of things.

Z: You get hurt easily, don’t you?
U: Although I’m the type to get hurt easily, I’ve heard from many people that I’m calm in some ways.

Z: Although I try to appear strong, I can’t really stay calm. Minor issues have put me in a bad mood before. What about you?
U: It’s just that when someone disrespects me, that sticks with me longer than anything else. By geting me irritated, the person may have achieved his/her objective, but as I feel victimized, even if it’s just a joke, I will bear a grudge with the person for a long time. Clenching my teeth, I think to myself, “I’ll show you (what I’m capable of)”.

Z: So even though you feel victimized, you seem to be making progress in changing that. Then have you always been studying music?
U: I’ve never really studied it. About that, these days, I’m feeling slightly regretful and if I had studied music before I debuted, then from the moment I debuted, I would be able to bring good music to everyone. That’s what I’ve been thinking recently, so I decided to start anew. Be it harmonics or guitar, I’m studying all these and because I only studied briefly before I played my guitar on broadcasts, now I’m going study it to properly first. Both the keyboard and guitar.

Z: You sing extremely well. Since you hadn’t studied music, was it because you were singing along to g.o.d’s songs from a young age?
U: That would be a way of practising too, right? Rather than going for any lessons in particular, when I’m singing to myself, I try to fix things here and there, I probably just gave it a lot of thought to find areas for improvement.

Z: Honestly, I’m really jealous of people who can sing well. Since I’m so tone deaf. Hehe
U: But there are probably many different kinds of definitions of what it means to sing well. Of course there are some people who leave others dumbfounded at how well they can sing. Either with their outstanding technique, a powerful or refreshing voice, all these are really good. But there are some who don’t use any techniques, or stir up any emotions, and just sound really sad. Even though it’s sung serenely, it can make others cry, such that they feel even more sad than the song itself. For example, I really like the late Kim Kwangsuk (*Note: He was in IU’s SK Telecom CF). Compared to other seniors of his time, rather than just producing really cool music, he kept to heavy and sad music that is able to make people cry. I think that’s even more incredible.

Z: Kim Kwangsuk’s music painted his own life circumstances, right? By painting his own life story, even for someone tone deaf like me, I enjoy his music very much.
U: People are always setting criteria to judge singing ability, but to me, rather than techniques or lung power, it’s simply what is conveyed to the audience that matters. What I mean to say is if a singer is able to convey to the audience what he wishes to, then I think that’s considered someone with great singing ability. Compared to other singers, I view emotions with great importance, so ever since I was a trainee, I have focused more on talking and listening practice than being in sync with others or my vocals. As a result, there are many areas that I’m lacking in. Since I really feel that I’m weak in my techniques, I’m considering attending lessons on that, but firstly, I think it’s still most important for me to be able to express my emotions well. In the first place, that has to do with how much of the emotions I feel…

Z: How old were you when you first started listening to music?
U: Hmm… probably around 6 or 7 years old. Watching Fin.K.L-unnies and G.o.d-oppas on TV programmes.

Z: You can remember all that? Hehe then when you were listen to their music then, did you think to yourself, ‘Ah they’re so good’?
U: Rather than just thinking they were good, I was probably got excited and sang along to their songs.

Z: Then does that mean you were born gifted? I don’t have many memories to do with music in particular. Although I’m good with visuals, my hearing is hopeless. Even when I watch movies, the music doesn’t register in my mind. But if I don’t want my child to be like that too, what should I do? Should I switch on stuff like for him/her more often?(TL note: loll asking IU for advice on parenting now??)
U: I have no strong objections to that… Everyone has different strengths, so if you wish to… Hehe

Z: Ah! There’s nothing I can do for myself but I would like to raise my child to be a bit more sensitive. Hehe I don’t want my child to be tone deaf!
U: Ah… Tone deaf!! Hehehe it’s probably best that he/she listens to more music. I think during singing practice, the most important thing is listening.

Z: You did some acting recently. How did you find it?
U: It was really fun~.

Z: You seem to have a personality whereby you find everything interesting. Is that whenever you try new things?
U: I used to really dislike it. Attempting new stuff. I don’t feel confident and I’m filled with scary thoughts and feel like I’m taking on the job in vain, so I didn’t particularly like taking up challenges, but I liked that when I managed to do it eventually, it would make me smile. However, it seems that for acting, it was really fun right from the start.

Z: Before you received that offer, did you ever think to yourself, ‘Ah! I want to try acting too’?
U: I went to an acting school during my elementary school days. At that time, I had some vague thoughts about becoming a celebrity, but I wanted to be an actor rather than a singer. So I went to acting school and then I suddenly had dreams to become a singer instead, so I did so… I always have thoughts about wanting to act, but I don’t think these are strong notions.

Z: Then how old were you when you attended acting school?
U: In my 5th year of elementary school?

Z: If one of my friends say, ‘I want to become a celebrity too’, what would you say?
U: Ah…hmm…I…would…probably…provide…some recommendations. hehe

Z: There was a period of time whereby you were relatively unknown too. Celebrities have to have luck on their side, as well as strong abilities, but which do you think comes first? Luck or one’s abilities?
U: I think luck comes first. Firstly, luck and then how far you will go depends on your abilities, but even if you have abilities, without luck, it would be tiring, wouldn’t it?

Z: You went to the UK recently too~ How did you find it? Was that your first time travelling abroad?
U: It was my 2nd~ Japan was my first. UK was really great~. The country I’ve wanted to visit the most has always been the UK.

Z: Why?
U: That’s because my favourite singer is British.

Z: Who’s that?
U: A singer called Corinne Bailey Rae, but she’s British. So I have always longed to visit the UK. I thought to myself, “If I live in the UK, would I be able to sing too just like she her?” UK felt really carefree, with its broad green fields, I felt myself open up to my surroundings.

Z: Where did you go in the UK?
U: London. There were so many parks. The buildings were really pretty too. I thought to myself that people who live among such pretty buildings would have to be really sensitive to emotions. I also thought the place really felt like something out of a fairytale. But it also seems to be be a slightly deep country.

Z: In what way?
U: It’s so peaceful and stable, like a country that can serve as a role model? It felt great to see the country in good shape, but a deeper understanding of the place would probably take a long time.

Z: Do you like travelling? If I were to go travelling in future, I would want to go to Indonesia.
U: These days I’ve taken a greater interest in travelling. hehe

Z: It’s been 3 years since your debut right? To produce 5 albums in 3 years is quite a lot, you must have been busy. Changing the topic slightly, usually what do you think of art?
U: I don’t particularly like art, since I prefer natural things. I don’t really like what is labelled as the arts either and I think the difference lies in how you express it. People who are not interested in fine arts can express themselves through songs and people who are not interested in singing can express themselves through pictures. People who are uninterested in the arts but still talk to their friends about it and go out to these places with them, insisting that’s what the arts is about; these people are just being pretentious.

Z: To express your own thoughts is art isn’t it? Have you fallen in love before? Be it a crush or puppy love.
U: Yes, I have.

Z: Then what kind of relationship would you want to have?
U: Whew… there’s this song lyrics that go “You’re my Everything”. Right now, I don’t get how someone else can be my everything. But I want to fall in that kind of love. I wonder if there’s someone who can really be my everything.

Z: When you fall in love, you would feel that way. hehe that just means you haven’t really fallen in love before. hehe
U: I just want to try falling in that kind of love. hehe

Z: Is there anything you’re interested in besides music?
U: No~. hehe (TL note: loll way to kill a conversation)

Z: We talked about the late Kim Kwangsuk earlier on. He led a difficult life of solitude and his sad love story led him to produce such music. From his voice, you can feel his sadness… but what if you went through a hardship like that too, would you take some time off? Or continue going straight ahead like you do now?
U: Hmm…hardship…I’m not sure what kind of hardship I may face…but if I keep thinking it would be great if there were none, then perhaps it would not come my way? Hehehehehehe

Z: Ah… then I’ll just ask one last question~. At the age of 19, you’re still young, but have you had any sad or painful experiences?
U: Well… that seems to happen every week. Hehehe How much more can my heart take? I’m really timid so if I receive any impact, even if it’s just once, it hurts me deeply. I debuted in such a manner and would feel like that about once every week.

Z: When you come in 1st place on broadcasts, that isn’t the case, but probably something you feel at a personal level.
U: That’s true. Hehehe

Z: Alright. You worked hard today~ Thank you~~~. Hehehe

[News] IU and Kim Yuna's duet song "Ice flower", An explosive synergy effect is expected

IU and Kim Yuna’s duet song, entitled “Ice Flower,” is the joint-work of Lee Min-su and Kim Ina, both of whom are hit songwriters in Korea. The latest duet song is highly expected to dominate public mind following such the songs Lee and Kim jointed wrote as: “Nagging,” and “Good Day”

This is not the first duet experience for both IU and Kim Yuna: IU has paired up with 2AM’s Im Seul Ong, Seong Si Kyeong and Yu Seung Ho; Kim also kept in tune with Lee Seung Gi and Park Jung Hyun. That means that “Ice Flower” is the result of the joint-work of the most experienced players in creating a duet song. All the profit from song downloads are planned to be used for the development of figure skating.

The participating musicians included Next’s proven guitarist Kim Se Hwang, who presented his amazing solo guitar performance, driving the song to its climax, and Born Again’s renowned bass guitarist Seo Jae Hyuk, who also significantly enriched the song. Aware of the cause of the song, the two musicians gladly agreed to participate in the work despite their hectic schedule.

The music video of “Ice Flower” is likely to hold much attention as well, which features the recording images of the two popular stars, as well as the performing scenes of the participating celebrities in Kiss And Cry, a figure skating competition reality show.

[News] IU: "My dream is to produce a special album containing my compositions"

At the fanmeeting, fans held up their usual banner with the message, “We’re here for IU” and with IU’s fancafe going up the rankings from 17th position to 10th position recently, proving that the support from her fans has helped her to grow during this period of time.

But to IU, who is currently still a teenager, with regards to her favourite moments as a singer and in response to questions from fans about her future plans as a singer, she said, “My dream is to produce a special album containing only my original compositions” and now that she is enjoying great popularity, it seems that she has to handle things even more carefully now.

Amidst an entertainment industry full of ups and downs, many trends come and go. So her rationale is to solidify her position in the days following her 1004th and also avoid having any weak points, such that she can happily continue to progress into the future.

[News] IU reveals that her nickname is embarassing and burdensome

At her 1,004th day fan meeting, IU tells her fans that her nickname “Trendy IU” makes her feel embarrassed and filled with burden.

IU earned the nickname “Trendy IU” when the singer debuted in 2008 with her excellent musical abilities such as singing and composing lyrics and her cute demeanor.

IU expressed,

“The nickname is very cumbersome and embarrassing. Whenever I hear anything referring to this nickname I get worried and feel like I have to show my best at all times, which in turn has become a way to continuously reflect on myself.”

Besides opening up to her fans through her speeches, several events were also prepared in hopes of allowing IU and her fans to become closer.

All proceeds raised from the fan meeting were to be donated.

[PICTURES] IU vs Ga-In: Who wore it better?

IU and Brown Eyed Girls' member Ga-In were seen wearing the same cardigan.

The outfit they chose was a mint colored cardigan that gave off a lively spring feel.

IU recently wore the cardigan on KBS 2TV 'Immortal Song 2'. She completed the look by wearing a matching comfortable black & white tshirt with the mint colored cardigan and had a casual & light look.

Ga-In on the otherhand wore the cardigan on MBC's daily sitcom, 'All My Love'. She showed off a more feminine look by wearing a sleevelesss floral-patterened V-neck with the cardigan.

Comparing the two pictures side-by-side, netizens commented, "Although the styles are different, they are both very pretty" and "IU looks girly whereas Ga-In gave off a more mature look."

[News] 'Kiss and Cry', theme for next contest ''Dance, Dance''

It has been decided that the theme for the next contest on 'Kiss and Cry' will be "Dance, Dance".

On the June 12th broadcast of the show, the theme was "Couple" and the participants skated to a variety of dance songs, thus based on this, the decision was made for the theme of the next set of performances. The PD of 'Kiss and Cry' said, "Following this theme, the writers will work together with each of the participating teams to come to an agreement regarding the song choice and stage format."

Also, the total score from the "Couple" and "Dance, Dance" contests will determine the first contestant to be eliminated from the show. Kim Jae Hyuk PD explained, "As the first contest was held not long after the couples met up for the first time, they may not have been able to showcase the best that they can do. The second contest will provide a chance for them to prove themselves again and for every following contest after that, contestants will slowly be eliminated." However, it has not be decided yet how many teams will be eliminated each time, during the 5 rounds of contests. (*Note: There are 10 teams in all)

Meanwhile, for every contest, the judges will keep changing and have not been confirmed yet, while the theme song for the show, 'Ice Flower', sung by MC Kim Yuna and IU is scheduled to be released on the June 19th broadcast. Also, after the June 12th broadcast, which featured performances by Yunho, Krystal, Kim Byung Man, Park Jun Geum, IU and others, Kim Byung Man received positive feedback for his excellent performance despite his ankle injury, and IU also received positive comments for her great improvement and dedication to figure skating practice.

[News] “Immortal Song 2” criticized for its harsh elimination standards

The first episode of KBS’s newest idol variety show, “Immortal Song 2,” aired on June 4th. However, many of the original idols that were cast such as Yesung, Jonghyun, IU and more recently, Yoseob, have already left the show. Additionally, the show’s elimination criteria have come under fire for being too harsh.

Recently, the elimination of the contestants has been reviewed to due its brutality. The format of the show is interesting enough already.

There are six contestants that participate on each episode. However, the first idol performs and their score is compared to the second contestant. The idol with the lowest score within the first two contestants is then eliminated.

Netizens who watched the first episode expressed that the elimination based on two choices is too harsh and that the idol singers are too young to be subjected to that kind of comparison and elimination from the episode. Additionally they pointed out, “Those contestants who perform at the end of the show have more to compare to and for that reason, they are better off.”

For the first episode of the show, the first two contestants where Jonghyun and Yesung, where Jonghyun came out victorious. However, the order continued with IU, Hyorin, Yoseob, and Changmin, where Hyorin came out victorious. Hyorin only had to beat two other idols, but for Jonghyun to win, he would have had to beat five other idols. Jonghyun had roughly a three percent chance in winning, while Changmin had an even 50% chance, as he only had to beat one other contestant.

It is known that Jonghyun cried after beating Yesung, and although the show stated that the reason he cried was because he felt bad for his label mate Yesung, netizens have speculated Jonghyun cried due to the pressure of the elimination and the chance of humiliation.

The show has already lost four of its original idol singers, Jonghyun, Yesung, IU, and Yoseob supposedly due to their packed schedules. The singers will be replaced as the episodes progress, but only Hyorin and Changmin remain from the original idols that were cast for the show.

Do you think that idols are leaving the show because of their schedules or because of the show’s elimination criteria?

[News] IU gets a shock from hearing Hyun Bin's voice in 'Good Day'

IU's "Good Day" becomes Hyun Bin's "Good Day"?

On the KBS 2TV show "Sponge Zero", which was broadcasted on June 10th, IU's "Good Day" was replaced with Hyun Bin's "Good Day".

The production crew of the show found that by reducing the pitch of IU's "Good Day" by 80%, one would hear Hyun Bin's voice and that Hyun Bin's actual voice is also 92% lower than IU's.

Even IU, the original singer of the song, was taken aback upon hearing this version and acknowledged that it became Hyun Bin's "Good Day".

Hyun Bin's face was then superimposed on IU's "Good Day" music video and brought laughter to everyone in the studio.
Besides "Good Day", there were also other songs that produced the same effect. 30 members from Hyun Bin's fanclub selected 7 songs that sounded like Hyun Bin's voice after pitch manipulation and Jang Yun Jeong's "Oh My Goodness" was found to be most similar.

(*Note: The video isn't up yet so I don't know if they actually played the Hyun Bin version on the show, but someone tested this on a DSI ^^)
