[News] Singers’ Singing Trainer Cho Wants SHINee Jonghyun

Cho Hongkyung is a vocal trainer in Star King’s “The Vocal King of Miracle,” a project corner to cure the tone-deaf. He also trained Mnet Super Star K 2 top ten contestants and most recently MBC TV “Great Birth” top 3 contestants. Seo Inyoung, VOS, SG Wannabe’s Kim Jinho and Lee Seokhun, Yangpa, and Lee Kichan also received a vocal lesson from him. …

He counted SHINee’s Jonghyun as the singer he wants to train most. He praised Jonghyun saying, “I even want to train him personally. I think Jonghyun could develop his voice more, but he doesn’t seem to know it. If he tries harder, he will be able to make diverse voices.”

[News] “Immortal Song 2” criticized for its harsh elimination standards

The first episode of KBS’s newest idol variety show, “Immortal Song 2,” aired on June 4th. However, many of the original idols that were cast such as Yesung, Jonghyun, IU and more recently, Yoseob, have already left the show. Additionally, the show’s elimination criteria have come under fire for being too harsh.

Recently, the elimination of the contestants has been reviewed to due its brutality. The format of the show is interesting enough already.

There are six contestants that participate on each episode. However, the first idol performs and their score is compared to the second contestant. The idol with the lowest score within the first two contestants is then eliminated.

Netizens who watched the first episode expressed that the elimination based on two choices is too harsh and that the idol singers are too young to be subjected to that kind of comparison and elimination from the episode. Additionally they pointed out, “Those contestants who perform at the end of the show have more to compare to and for that reason, they are better off.”

For the first episode of the show, the first two contestants where Jonghyun and Yesung, where Jonghyun came out victorious. However, the order continued with IU, Hyorin, Yoseob, and Changmin, where Hyorin came out victorious. Hyorin only had to beat two other idols, but for Jonghyun to win, he would have had to beat five other idols. Jonghyun had roughly a three percent chance in winning, while Changmin had an even 50% chance, as he only had to beat one other contestant.

It is known that Jonghyun cried after beating Yesung, and although the show stated that the reason he cried was because he felt bad for his label mate Yesung, netizens have speculated Jonghyun cried due to the pressure of the elimination and the chance of humiliation.

The show has already lost four of its original idol singers, Jonghyun, Yesung, IU, and Yoseob supposedly due to their packed schedules. The singers will be replaced as the episodes progress, but only Hyorin and Changmin remain from the original idols that were cast for the show.

Do you think that idols are leaving the show because of their schedules or because of the show’s elimination criteria?

[News] Yesung, IU and Jonghyun to leave "Immortal Song 2"

It has been announced on June 6 that Singer IU, group Super Junior's Yesung and SHINee's Jonghyun will leave Immortal Song 2- Singing a Legend which is a part of KBS 2TV Declaration of Freedom.

PD Kwon Jaeyoung explained, "IU, Yesung and Jonghyun will leave Immortal Song 2 because of their other schedule. IU has left the show with the broadcast of last week's episode and Yesung and Jonghyun will leave the program with the third episode which will be broadcast on the 18th."

PD Kwon added, "it's unfortunate that we can't show the original members growing with this change in members. However, we think it's good that we can give more opportunities to more idol stars."

On the criticisms that the program is too similar to MBC Our Sunday Night- I am a Singer, he stated, "I think it's because the format is similar. Just like how Great Birth is different from Super Star K, Immortal Song 2 will definitely be a different program than I am a Singer.

Meanwhile, Immortal Song 2 will air its second contest which has group Boohwal's famous songs as its theme on June 11 at 5:50 pm.

Hangul lyric :

So Goodbye Don't cry and smile

가슴 시리던 시간들

모두다 보내줄거야F

So Goodbye 어둠속 외롭던 나

난 네가 필요해

I need your love again

So Goodbye Don't cry and smile

[News|Trans] Radio star or I’m a singer? A high-quality music show!

Guitarist Kim DoKyun, Lee JongHyun, and Jungmo gave the viewers’ eyes and ears a treat with their ‘jam’ performance.

Rock band CNBLUE (Jung YongHwa, Lee JongHyun) and Baek Doosan (Yoo HyunSang, Kim DoKyun) were part of the MBC TV Radio Star “Show! I love Rock“ last night, June 1st.

Jungmo from TRAX, who made a surprised appearance on the show for MC Kim HeeChul said that he wanted to do an impromptu guitar performance with ‘Guitarist God’ Kim DoKyun. Kim DoKyun gladly accepted JungMo’s proposal and together with JongHyun, without music sheets and with only four chords, they gave an outstanding jam performance which wowed the audience.

Along with Kim Taewon and Shin DaeChul, Kim DoKyun is one of the ‘big three’ guitarist in the 80′s and JungMo with his excellent diverse guitar playing style is certainly the icon for the next generation. But the one who caught people’s attention the most was Lee JongHyun, whose talent had been underestimated because of his good looks.

Baek Doosan’s leader Yoo HyunSang couldn’t hide his surprise at Lee JongHyun‘s talent. He was not petty with his praise, “Hearing the guitar sound, I couldn’t say anything to CNBLUE” and Lee JongHyun was overwhelmed and emotionally he expressed, “I never thought that there would be an opportunity like this. I didn’t even realised how it ended.”

The Radio Star MCs and production crew watching the quality music show were really satisfied and commented, “We couldn’t even dream of having this kind of stage performance in our program”, “It feels like watching “, “This far exceeded the standard of sound/music for broadcast“.
