Q1. Which country did you visit recently?
A1 I visited Waikiki, Hawaii for photo shoot. I felt refreshed in the nice weather and beautiful landscapes. One of our staff members is always saying he want to live in Hawaii in the future, so I’m interested in Hawaii too. It was attractive more than I heard from him. I had time to relax and go shopping.

Q2 . You began boxing last summer. Are you still doing it?
A2 No, I’m too busy to have time to do boxing. But I’m willing to do any exercise because sweating through exercise is a good way of getting rid of stress.

Q3. You have a lot of opportunities to work with hubaes now. What will you do as a sonbae?
A3. Some are younger than me, but most of them are close in age. So I don’t think “I should do something as a sonbae” or “I should talk to them” or something like that. I know I’m a sonbae for the hubaes, but I don’t want to be bossy. I prefer to get along with them as friends as far as they have most basic manners.


QUESTION for Yunho

Q1. Which country did you visit recently?
A1. I went Toronto to appear as a dancer in a movie starring BoA. I met some famous dancers I know only from TV too. They dance well, have good manners and come up with fine ideas. We choreographed a dance together, frankly exchanging views. We got along just fine.

Q2. What sort of impressions did you get from Toronto?
A2. What strikes me is that people are living relaxed in that quest city. The movie crews were also relaxed. I’m almost always working on a busy place, so it was as if I had a holiday. I had a nice relaxed time.

Q3. You are always positive. Are there any moments when you think “I can’t go on any longer”?
A3. I’m a human being, so there are moments when I feel I can’t go on any longer (laugh). But a man should do his best once he has started something whatever the results. I don’t want to have any regrets. I do stick to something to the end to make it a good memory once I have started it.

Both of you has your own rooms; is there a time where you will think “Let’s sleep in the same room today”?

Yunho: We didn’t have this thought before, but there are incidents where both of us are really tired and we fall asleep together in the living room.

[News] Choikang Changmin Encourages Girls' Generation As A Singer Who Entered The Japanese Market First

TVXQ’s Choikang Changmin gave words of encouragement to Girls’ Generation.

MBC’s ‘Come to Play’ held a ‘We Came from Paris’ special with TVXQ, Super Junior, Girls’ Generation and f(x).

While saying their final comments to each other, Changmin gave words of encouragement to Girls’ Generation, who are currently busy with their Japanese activities, as he said, “It’s lonely and hard to be in a country that isn’t your homeland,” and “I’m sure you will miss your friends and family.”

To this, Girls’ Generation teared up as their senior showed that he understood what they were going through. As Choikang Changmin debuted in Japan before Girls’ Generation, he was able to understand how the girls felt outside of their home country more than anyone else, and the moment in which he treated the girl group like a caring older brother showed the friendship between SM Town singers.

In the final moments, Sulli cried as she thanked Tiffany and Taeyeon, who she liked before her debut, for being so nice to her and Kristal apologized to Sulli for not taking care of her more due to their age gap.

[News] Siwon and Changmin are the attention-getting during trainee days- Come to Play

On the June 27 episode of MBC’s entertainment show Come to Play, SM Town’s singers, who had just completed concerts in Paris in great success, were invited: TVXQ, Super Junior, Girls’ Generation and f(x).

Super Junior’s Leeteuk evoked curiosity by saying, “When we were trainees, we were generally stirred up as a new face came in the competitive society. All the existing trainees start holding the new member in check. The most attention-getting figures at the time were TVXQ’s Changmin and Super Junior’s Siwon and Shindong.”

He explained, “Changmin received attention because he looked very much alike in appearance with HOT’s Gangta, one of the most popular stars at the time. [Trans] Changmin’s InStyle Interview

Part 1

- “Last night, I slept really well.”

- Choikang Changmin had spent his first day in Hawaii, and seemed to be in good spirits. As he greeted us “Good Morning” and looked out at the gleaming sea, he sat, refined and poised like in a movie, sipping coffee and flashing us that killer smile.

- “The theme for this Hawaiian vacation has been settled. It’s ‘Rediscovering Shim Changmin’. So, would you like to come discover with me? (LOL)”

- Regarding his debut at the age of 17, and having always been known as “TVXQ’s Choikang Changmin”, this trip is particularly special to him. Even though this resulted in less time that he could have spent travelling Korea with his friends, the respite from their continuous activities in Japan and in Korea was more than welcomed, especially being able to travel by himself.

- “This is a real time off (from activities), but instead of resting, I’m spending my time on the school work that I was unable to do, or learning things that I couldn’t have before. Now that I think about it, it seems like I’m asking too much from myself. I should be disarming right now. (LOL)”

- Being in a duo with Uknow Yunho to become “Dong Bang Shin Ki”, and standing on stage once more, he underwent much pain and suffering, because he has to live as a part of TVXQ, which is of utmost importance, but he is unable to enjoy his youth. Perhaps, that is what led him to say that treasuring every moment in Hawaii may not be a reality.

- His favourite travel spots are expansive oceans, and tranquil mountain ranges.

Part 2

- “For the 2006 photoshoot, we went to Bora Bora Island, in Tahiti. Because the schedule was very tight, we couldn’t enjoy the place and relax, but to me, that was by far the best place on Earth. Everywhere you looked, the view was like a painting. If I had the chance, I would definitely want to go back. Ah, it seems like an ideal place for a honeymoon. (LOL)”

- Actually, he already has experienced the married life (?), in last winter’s drama serial “Paradise Ranch”. That was the first time that Changmin tried acting, and this new experience, no longer on stage, has fortified him. Strolling on Waikiki Beach, Changmin says: “Hawaii seems to complement my character. No matter where I go, I feel serene. Although coming by myself to Hawaii without Yunho hyung, I do feel sorry about that. (LOL) Having to say that I will be leaving this place soon, I already feel reluctant.”

- Having said that, however, when he returns to Korea, he will be boasting to Uknow Yunho about the 5 days he spent in Hawaii; how he took all these pictures, and how happy he was, exactly like the mischievious kid that he is.

- “Yunho hyung and I are complete opposites. So from the moment we started living together in the same dormitory, there were a lot of unresolved issues. For example, he would drink directly from the 1.5L bottle in the fridge, instead of pouring it into a cup. But over time, these small details no longer become points of contention between the two of us; we’ve gradually become like family.”

- Rather effortfully, he said that because they are like family, they treasure each other equally, hence helping TVXQ keep its place.

- Is there anything you would like to do after the interview?

Part 3

- “Having listened to Bruno Mars’ “The Lazy Song”, I want to do what the lyrics say, not doing anything, not thinking about anything, simply lazing in bed. I also want to write in my diary by the sea, because I want cherish these moments for a long time. Subsequently, when I write songs, I want to express these feelings in my lyrics. ”

- For this year’s summer vacation, he mentioned that he wanted to tour LA and New York with his friends. He also wants to watch performances with his favourite artistes, and shop in town with his friends, looking at various things. Come night time, he wants to go to a bar and drink good beer. Right now he is the headliner in the Hallyu Wave that is sweeping across Asia, Europe and America, a member of TVXQ, and is still very much Choikang Changmin. But in the quiet of the night, he is like any other 24 year old, wanting to enjoy good beer and music, meeting up with friends and eating pans of pizza, and hoping to meet to girl of his dreams.

- Given all that though, if life was that utopian, he would be uneasy. “I am TVXQ, I am Choikang Changmin, and I must surpass these standards.”; even then he is unable to change this mindset.

- “Now it is different. To feel like I’m moving along in life, to feel like I’m on my way to where I want to be, feeling happiness and melancholy alike are a must, even failure. You always feel a touch of regret with the days that have gone by. That is why, to compensate for that remorse you have to strive even harder in the futrue. When you’re on vacation, your heartaches are forgotten temporarily, and it’s like returning to the start, because you have another vacation waiting. Would you like to come with me on my next vacation? (LOL)”

2AM second visit to Jakarta somehow pays IAM -2AM's fans- disappointment who are unable to see their idols last time. Although not in complete formation as maknae Jinwoon can't attend the event, 2AM could be said to be the most eagerly awaited in Jakarta FantastiKpop Festival.

Yahoo! Indonesia got the opportunity to have a short interview with 2AM one day before the concert. Here's their interview :

What's the difference from 2AM with 2PM?

Kwon (K) : 2AM debut earlier than 2PM. Just like their name, 2 in the morning, where people feel more sensitive so the music is more relaxing (ballad). While 2PM, as their name suggest, 2 in the afternoon, their music and style are very active and hot. There is no comparison between 2AM and 2PM. We are brothers. So, we are all very close.

Changmin (C) : 2PM and 2AM are not comparable.


What are the benefits a career in music in format of group/ boyband?

Seulong (S) : Join a group/ boyband certainly very lucky to be loved by many fans but along with it, we have a big responsibility so we cannot act recklessly.


As idol group, 2AM of course have to think of appearance and image.
How do you take care of it?

K : In image, of course we tried to show it by making and displaying good music. Other than that, we often discuss with fans so we can understand their taste. Usually we communicate via internet or twitter. And for appearance, it is important to keep ourself fit. Therefore, we workout in the morning.


What are you doing during spare time?

C : What are we doing during spare time doesn't seem much difference than other teenagers. We often go to cinema to watch movie or go workout. Usually hangs out with friends from the same management company because with them, we met more often and more familiar.


Ideal type of woman and ideal date?

S : If we get to pick from Korean actress, my ideal type of woman is Shim Min Ah (My Girlfriend is a Gumiho actress). She is beautiful and tall. And if you see in movies, she's nice. I will be happy if I can go on a date and watch movie with her.

K : For me, Gong Hyo Jin (Best Love actress, currently very popular in Korea). She is very beautiful and popular. Same way to date, watch movie.

C : For me, Cho Hyo Jong. I imagine at Christmas, we spend holiday together walking around town, visit various places.

[News] TVXQ Choikang Changmin's Refreshing Summer In Hawaii

TVXQ member Choikang Changmin displayed a relaxed demeanor as a model for InStyle Magazine's 100th edition.

For the photoshoot, Choikang Changmin traveled to Hawaii's Oahu Island for a 4 day, 5 night shoot. During this time, Changmin had a really good rest to recharge his energy.

InStyle's editor Choi Han Na praised Changmin's charismatic personality: "It's hard to believe that Changmin's a Hallyu celebrity. He's actually really really easy to get along with."

Fans will be able to see a more natural side of Changmin in InStyle's July edition (100th edition) with a 10-page spread taken by photographer Oh Joong Suk, who also participated in the production of MBC's "Infinity Challenge."

[News] “Immortal Song 2” criticized for its harsh elimination standards

The first episode of KBS’s newest idol variety show, “Immortal Song 2,” aired on June 4th. However, many of the original idols that were cast such as Yesung, Jonghyun, IU and more recently, Yoseob, have already left the show. Additionally, the show’s elimination criteria have come under fire for being too harsh.

Recently, the elimination of the contestants has been reviewed to due its brutality. The format of the show is interesting enough already.

There are six contestants that participate on each episode. However, the first idol performs and their score is compared to the second contestant. The idol with the lowest score within the first two contestants is then eliminated.

Netizens who watched the first episode expressed that the elimination based on two choices is too harsh and that the idol singers are too young to be subjected to that kind of comparison and elimination from the episode. Additionally they pointed out, “Those contestants who perform at the end of the show have more to compare to and for that reason, they are better off.”

For the first episode of the show, the first two contestants where Jonghyun and Yesung, where Jonghyun came out victorious. However, the order continued with IU, Hyorin, Yoseob, and Changmin, where Hyorin came out victorious. Hyorin only had to beat two other idols, but for Jonghyun to win, he would have had to beat five other idols. Jonghyun had roughly a three percent chance in winning, while Changmin had an even 50% chance, as he only had to beat one other contestant.

It is known that Jonghyun cried after beating Yesung, and although the show stated that the reason he cried was because he felt bad for his label mate Yesung, netizens have speculated Jonghyun cried due to the pressure of the elimination and the chance of humiliation.

The show has already lost four of its original idol singers, Jonghyun, Yesung, IU, and Yoseob supposedly due to their packed schedules. The singers will be replaced as the episodes progress, but only Hyorin and Changmin remain from the original idols that were cast for the show.

The commercial will be filmed in three parts with the first ‘U-Know Yunho’ episode dealing with U-Know Yunho dashing to the departure lounge in a last desperate effort to stop ‘her’ from leaving. Though he ends up finding her, he sees her sharing a kiss with Choikang Changmin.

In the second ‘Choikang Changmin’ episode, the sweet yet dangerous kiss given by Choikang Changmin to capture ‘her’ heart will be seen. Through this advertisement, Choikang Changmin will change his image from a kind and good-natured man into a fatally charming bad boy.

In the third ‘Her’ episode, ‘she’ will be seen choosing between U-Know Yunho and Choikang Changmin with great difficulty.
