[BLOG] Son IlRak's Cyworld Update @beastdw

You are a singer

There was one single teacher who was basically the age of my students and was also from Miss Korea.
One day, when I asked her why she wasn't getting married,
She responded back to me with an awkward expression.
She said that she was only interested in good looking guys.

I suddenly got into a joking mood and showed her the picture of Dongwoon I had saved on to my phone.
Then suddenly, a smile appeared on the teacher's face.
And then she started to beg me to introduce her to him.

After hearing that, I sneaked a laugh
This was because Dongwoon was only in 7th grade at the time and the picture I had on my phone was a picture of him I took when he was in 6th grade.

That is right.
Even at that time my son was the epitome of exceeding at a rate faster than Benjamin Button. ^^

Later, when the teacher looking like a student found out the truth behind my story, she made an embarrassed face.
Then she said that an oppa she knew was the president of a management and he was looking for the main character in a music video. She added that it would be a good experience for him to come out as at least as an extra.

Music video filming!
This coincidental offer had become the seedling that set his destiny to become a singer.

The management president, who looked at Dongwoon, suddenly asked, "Why are you trying to appear in a music video?"
And then he abruptly added, "Why don't you just try for the main role?"

Also, the management president asked Dongwoon what he wanted to be when he grew up.
Then, oh my, Dongwoon suddenly answers that he wants to be a singer and that he had been preparing a band for a long time?

Hearing that coming from him, I was really suprised.
Because until then, I thought of singers as part of a story from a different world.
I didn't even hear my own son sing before.
Will you guys believe me if I say that I had never been to the karaoke with my family or my friends in my entire life back then?

Thinking that it didn't even make sense, I came back home with Dongwoon.
And in the car, after tallking about different things, I told Dongwoon to sing a song.
Without hesistation, Dongwoon started to sing SG Wannabe's 'Timeless'.

I still remember thinking that Dongwoon sang giving it his all in his own way. ^^
But for me, who believed that only Jo Yongpil, Na Hoonah, and Song Changsik were the only singer to my ears, I thought that he didn't have the skills to become a singer.

Even when he made in the audition for Korea's one of the biggest managements, or when he made it as a main vocal in a group back in the days, or even when he debuted under the group name BEAST, my initial decision didn't change,

That is right.
For me, the definition of a singer was still Jo Yongpil, Na Hoonah, and Song Changsik.
So in other words, I didn't accept Dongwoon as a singer somewhere deep in my heart.

But you know.
I was surprised when I listened to BEAST's first official album and saw the comeback stage today.

This was because I felt it on my skin that Dongwoon's singing abilities improved so much. And of course his steadiness got much better.

Fans who watched BEAST's comeback stage commented about Dongwoon's improvement or praised him on his singing.

You guys are probably assuming this but~~~
I want to praise Dongwoon with the fan's praises on my back.
Even if you guys make fun of me for praising my son.
You guys understand right?

Son~
You are a singer.
You are a true singer.

Your father knows that you probably blamed yourself and pushed yourself harder through vocal lessons even after you debuted as a pro singer.
And I know that there are not many singers who still got vocal lessons after debuting as a singer.
How would I not understand your pain and suffering.

But your attitude is something to be praised about.
I hope that will never ever lose that type of mindset and attutide in the future.

Just adding this, but you won't be turning arrogant because you heard praises right?

Praises can even make a whale dance, but I am telling you this becuase it can also make someone sick and mess up their life.

Hoping that your father's praise will become your motivation to sing and dance harder, I also wish that it will never become the poison that ends up hurting you.

[NEWS] BEAST there was no 'ten minute', maturation of '2011 Dream Concert'

BEAST showed a great performance at the Dream Concert.

'2011 Dream Concert' was held on May 28th at PM in Seoul Sangam World Cup Stadium. Before the concert, there were concerns about the rumor 'let's not support BEAST's stage', which was known as BEAST 'ten minute', that spread throughout the internet. But BEAST performed a hot stage with their new song 'Fiction' and hit song 'Shock' and received a big cheer from the audience.

'Dream Concert' started back in 1995 and this year's was the 17th concert. Dream Concert is a big concert where people can enjoy the passion of high class singers. But Dream Concert created negative relationship between fandoms due to 'ten minute' (not supporting a singer on stage for ten minutes, silencing the whole audience), etc.

However, when BEAST went on stage the audience all cheered as one. Also seven thousands of fans stood up from their seat and supported BEAST, which was a twist. On top of this, fans of Shinee and other singers also joined in the supporting, showing a matured cultural awareness.

On the other hand, Shinee, TVXQ, Kara, 2PM, Jewelry, Rainbow, Secret, etc performed in '2011 Dream Concert', providing joy to the audience.

[News] GIRLS’ GENERATION’S INTERVIEW WITH METRO NEWSPAPER

‘9 Members’, ‘9th Year’, the Ones on Top Are Similar to Each Other

9 people with 9 colors, Girls’ Generation’s congratulatory ninth anniversary interview

Girls’ Generation sent congratulatory messages of nine different colors (styles) for Metro Newspaper’s ninth anniversary. Within four years of debuting, they have gone from being acknowledged by everybody as the nation’s representative girl group to becoming Asia’s top female group. They are very similar to Metro Seoul in that they are very active on a global scale and that they have secured their place as front-runners. The nine girls all said that they hope to share their joyous moments with Metro, which was with them when they started their careers.

Metro and the girls who are in their 4th year after debuting

It hasn’t been quite four years since their debut performance on a show on August 2nd, 2007. However, their success was made possible thanks to their sweat and hard work during their training period, which averaged five years. During that difficult period, their most dependable companion was Metro Newspaper.

“Before I debuted as a Girls’ Generation member, I always had Metro in my hands and enjoyed reading it while going to my school or practice room. Every morning was entertaining because there were fun and varied news reports.” (Taeyeon)

When their long training period was over and the countdown to their debut had begun, Metro wrote the first article about them (page 34 of the July 18, 2007 issue, titled “9 Female Ulzzang [literally ‘best face’] High School Students, ‘Female SuJu’ Unveiled”). They still vividly remember when that article was published.

“I can’t forget the sense of pride and nervousness I felt. I remember that the members were so happy that they weren’t even able to correctly read the article.” (Sooyoung)

They believe that the key factor behind their popularity is the fact that they have clearly shown their growth to their fans. They said that this, too, is something that they have in common with Metro.

“We always contemplate about new concepts so that we’re able to give off a fresh feeling. We’re able to stay strong because there are fans that like and look forward to our transformations. Likewise, I think that Metro’s charm is its ever-changing, fresh, young energy.” (Yuri)

“Thank you for creating a good memory for us.” (Hyoyeon)

“I hope Metro will grow even more than it has during these past 9 years.” (Tiffany)

“Please continue publishing good newspapers that sparkle like the morning sunlight.” (Sunny)

Japanese tour (starting May) 31st, attacking foreign markets

They are dreaming of taking another leap forward and are going to start their focused attacks on foreign markets on the 31st. They start their Japanese Arena Tour on the 31st and then they will hold their second Seoul concert and Asia tour right after.

Eight months after their Japanese debut, they are holding their first arena tour. With two additional concerts being added, they will have fourteen concerts in six cities and will be performing until July 18th. They will be performing in Tokyo, Osaka, Saitama, Hiroshima, Nagoya, and Fukuoka. Half of the concerts were added due to fans’ explosive demands and the 150,000 seats are certain to sell out.

“The most memorable moment last year was our showcase, which was our first Japanese performance. I had the strange feeling of excitement mixed with the fear of being in a foreign country and I could not believe that we were so welcomed. I want to meet a lot of new fans in various areas and I want to leave new stories and meanings wherever I go.” (Seohyun)

On July 23rd and 24th, one week after spending a warm summer in Japan and ending their Japanese tour, they will meet Korean fans through their “2011 Girls’ Generation Tour” at Olympic Park’s Gymnastics Gymnasium. During their previous Asia tour, they showed their outstanding singing and performance skills, as well as their ability to come up with high-caliber performances. On top of this, their teamwork will be polished to perfection after their Japanese Arena Tour. People are looking forward to them showing all of these qualities on the stage in Seoul.

The Seoul concert is the start of their Asia tour, which will continue in Taipei, Taiwan, and Nanjing, China, with additional concerts expected to be added in major Asian cities. Their activities aren’t limited to Asia though. On June 10th and 11th, a month before they will be in the middle of their busy Japanese tour, they will take part in the “SMTOWN Live World Tour in Paris” with other agency artists at Le Zenith de Paris.

“I’m already excited just thinking about personally experiencing the K-Pop fever that is going on in Paris. Last year’s LA, USA concert with fans of many different nationalities was moving, and I think I will be moved once again.” (Yoona)

They will release their first Japanese album “Japan 1st Album—Girls’ Generation” on (June 1st) and increase their popularity in the Japanese music industry.

“Our break between Korean promotions has increased, but we will use the experiences gained overseas to come back more mature.” (Jessica)

(TL note: The text above the members’ signatures says, “Metro, congratulations on your 9th anniversary!!”)

Also, it was reported that a total of 500,000 copies of SNSD 1st Japanese album ‘Girls’ Generation’ were released so far. Meanwhile, in conjunction with the sales of the first album starting from May 31st, the ‘Girls’ Generation Costume Exhibition’ was held at Tower Records stores in Tokyo’s Shibuya and Shinjuku, Nagoya and Osaka.

Here are some footages of the concert in Osaka Jo Hall (May 31st) as featured on June 1st’s Mezamashi TV.

[News] SJ-M was awarded with turtle soup, fans' hearts ached because Ryeowook drank it reluctantly

Super Junior M (SJ-M) came to Taiwan and went to various variety programmes, becoming the guarantee for viewer ratings. The fans also followed their idols all throughout Taiwan, mightily tailing them in 20 taxis; they're not afraid of spending their money, but are scared that their idols are not respected. SJ-M went on a programme and drank turtle soup, causing the fans' hearts to ache.

Following the culture, tries to wrap dumplings

SJ-M filmed for CTS's 《Golden Stage》,and the winning group for the games would receive a pot of turtle soup as reward, which is said to be very nourishing. Sungmin was scared when he saw it and didn't dare to drink (the soup), and Ryeowook reluctantly tried it, but found out that it wasn't as scary as he thought. (However) the fans were worried that such "hospitality" would scare them (SJ-M) off.

The production team said that they had discussed with the SJ-M managers before the show, and allowed them to choose from pig brain soup, duck eggs, and turtle soup; the other party picked turtle soup. Zhou Mi was already used to it while in China, but the others have not seen it before so they were slightly afraid of it, but in the end the whole pot went down the stomach of their manager. Following the culture (in Taiwan) SJ-M would also be wrapping dumplings in conjunction with the Dragon Boat Festival, and Ryeowook and Sungmin were the ones who did it. The other members were gluttonous and rushed to eat them, even packing off the dumplings, pineapple cakes and other food.

Siwon's 《Athena》 to be aired on the 8th

SJ-M would be having their fan party in Taiwan next week, whereby the tickets for both sessions have all been sold out. There were a small number of fans who were not able to obtain the tickets, and were angry to the extent that they wanted to seek help from the congressmen. The organisers AVEX expressed that if there are people who wanted to refund the tickets they would be able to help them to resell (the tickets), but because SJ-M's schedules are very packed, there is no way for them to hold additional sessions.

Even though the fans wouldn't be able to see their idols in person, they can watch television programmes to quence their desire. The Korean drama "Athena" which Siwon was casted in as the main character would be aired on Star TV's primetime slot at 9pm on the 8th (of June), as the director had seen his performance in "The Battle of Wits" of which he had worked together with Andy Lau, and found that his martial arts skills were very believable. Siwon said that Andy Lau took care of him a lot, and even gave him (Siwon) a seal carved with Siwon's Korean name as a gift. He still treasures the gift even until now.

Personal Question!!

~*JUNSU*~
Born on 15 January, 1988 | 180cm | 68kg

Q: Recommend a movie, book or CD you've enjoyed recently.
JUNSU: I just totally forgot the title of the book I'm reading right now. (laughs) (After thinking for a moment) I got it! I'm reading a book called "The Concept of Love". The content might be a bit cheesy, but reading it will awaken the emotions you have when you fall in love with someone.

Q: What is your shoe size and vision prescription?
JUNSU: My shoe size is 27.5cm. I have a vision of 0.3 ~ 0.2. I used to wear contacts, but I don't anymore. I can see a little.

Q: What is the most expensive item you've ever bought?
JUNSU: I don't know if it's expensive, but the most valuable items I ever bought were the presents I got for my parents with my first earnings. I gave a wallet and shoes to my father, and a wallet and a handbag to my mother. For 8 years, my mother has been using the wallet I gave her when I was a child.

Q: The lyrics of "Take Off" has the phrase "Mahou no kotoba" (magic words). What are your magic words?
JUNSU: "Let's win this!"

Q: Which member would you go to for advice?
JUNSU: I talk it out with all the members. If it's advice about love, I talk to the member who happens to be around. I've never actually done that, though. (laughs)

Q: How much do you have in your wallet right now?
JUNSU: I don't really walk around with cash. Ah, that's right. Lately, I received a university scholarship of 1 million won (about 100 ~ 120 thousand yen). That check is still in my wallet. (laughs)

Q: If you had a girlfriend, what present would you give her?
JUNSU: A huge bear the same size as me. Not that I have a girlfriend. (laughs)

Q: What would you like your girl to cook for you?
JUNSU: Ddeokbokki.

Q: What kind of flowers would you send to someone?
JUNSU: Pink roses.

Q: If someone said they'd give you a year's worth of OO, what would you ask for?
JUNSU: A year's worth of vacation... just kidding! (laughs) A black T-shirt made of 100% cotton, maybe?

Q: What's on your cellphone's display screen?
JUNSU: I have an Original Fake illustration drawn by the artist, KAWS, on my screen. It's a brand I really like, and he has some stores in Japan.

Q: What do you need to improve on?
JUNSU: I have so many things I need to work on, I can't list them all. (laughs) Ah, I don't have enough water in my system! I need to drink lots of water. (laughs)

Q: As Jun.K, you collaborated with ONEWAY and other artistes to produce songs. How did that feel?
JUNSU: I was very happy! It was something I really wanted to do, so it was like a dream come true. I hope to compose more songs, and I'd like to try that in Japan, too. I'm writing a 2PM song right now, so I think we can share it with everyone very soon. The song is a dance piece. I've also written a number of ballads, so please look forward to them!

Q: What does the "K" in Jun.K mean?
JUNSU: The "K" stands for my last name, Kim.

Q: Please write down 3 words to describe yourself!
JUNSU: Music, practice of medicine, weirdo (laughs)

~*TAECYEON*~
27 December, 1988 | 185cm | 76kg

Q: Recommend a movie, book or CD you've enjoyed recently.
TAEC: I watched a movie called "Love & Other Drugs" on the plane, but anything with love as the theme makes my heart flutter and my chest hurt.

Q: What is your shoe size and vision prescription?
TAEC: My shoe size... 28cm. My vision... is bad. (laughs) I usually wear glasses, but I'm wearing contacts today.

Q: Which member would you go to for advice?
TAEC: I don't usually go to anyone in particular... okay, I guess I'd go to Nichkhun. We've shared the same room since we entered the agency, and he's the friend I've always been able to talk to in English.

Q: How much do you have in your wallet right now?
TAEC: I don't have money. I don't have Korean money, and I might have some Japanese money, but I have no idea how much I've got. (laughs)

Q: If someone said they'd give you a year's worth of OO, what would you ask for?
TAEC: Ramen!

Q: If you had a girlfriend, what present would you give her?
TAEC: I don't know if she'd use it or not, but I'd give her a necklace.

Q: What would you like your girl to cook for you?
TAEC: I'll be happy with anything she makes for me.

Q: What do you think you need to improve on?
TAEC: I tend to worry about the future and impatiently crave instant results, so I think I need to work on that and correct it.

Q: What song pumps you up when you listen to it?
TAEC: There's a super catchy 2PM song I really like amongst our new ones, but since it hasn't been released, I shan't say anymore. (laughs) I don't know when it'll go on sale, but I'm sure it'll be out soon.

Q: If you could be a music video director, which 2PM song would you like to shoot?
TAEC: I want to shoot the MV for "Don't Stop Can't Stop".

Q: What's on your cellphone's display screen?
TAEC: A picture I took with the cast and staff of the drama "Dream High".

Q: What is the most expensive item you've ever bought?
TAEC: A laptop.

Q: How did it feel to appear in the drama "Dream High"?
TAEC: I really enjoyed it. Shooting was long, and there were times when it was tough, and times when I didn't have much sleep. Despite all that, I think we produced a great piece of work, so from the bottom of my heart, I'm pleased and really happy.

Q: What did you think of the sensational kiss scene?
TAEC: It was awkward. (laughs) I was embarrassed and also kind of shy. But in order to pull off a good scene with my partner, Suzy, I did my best.

Q: Please write down 3 words to describe yourself!
Cheerful, 2PM, 24.

~*NICHKHUN*~
Born on 24 June, 1988 | 180cm | 64kg

Q: Recommend a movie, book or CD you've enjoyed recently.
KHUN: I talked about this on Twitter before, but there's a good book called "Like the Flowing River" by Paulo Coelho.

Q: What is your shoe size and vision prescription?
KHUN: My shoe size is... 28cm. As for my vision... I'm not sure. But I don't need glasses. I went for an eyesight test the other day, and that's what they told me. (laughs)

Q: What is the most expensive item you've ever bought?
KHUN: A bag I gave as a present to my mother. I don't buy branded goods for myself, but I do buy them as gifts. It may be because I'm busy, but I'm not good at choosing things, so I don't shop often.

Q: Which member would you go to for advice?
KHUN: Rather than one member in particular, I talk to everyone. But I do talk to different members depending on the problems I have at the time.

Q: If you had a girlfriend, what present would you give her?
KHUN: I'd like to buy her a necklace or some kind of accessory, but I like giving surprises, so I'll come up with something she really likes after I get to know her better. And they may be cheap, but I also want to buy souvenirs for her when I go abroad. In a show with f(x)'s Victoria-san, I gave her a scarf as a birthday present.

Q: What would you like your girl to cook for you?
KHUN: I want her to make her best dish. And even if it tastes bad, I'll finish the whole thing.

Q: How much do you have in your wallet right now?
KHUN: I don't really put cash in my wallet, so I don't know how much I have. I have a card, so I use that often. I think I have just enough money for a cab ride, like about 6000 won (400 ~ 600 yen). (laughs)

Q: What's on your cellphone's display screen?
KHUN: Right now, it's a picture of the sea from my cellphone's original images. I figured I wouldn't mind looking at it for a while.

Q: What do you think you need to improve on?
KHUN: I want to be more professional on stage. I also need to improve on my singing, dancing and manners.

Q: What steps do you take to stay active in the industry?
KHUN: There are several, but I keep in the mind the words spoken by a certain novelist, "Don't try to be a great man; just be one."

Q: Please tell us about the choreography for "Heartbeat".
KHUN: We like to do something special whenever we're on stage, so we'd discuss whether we should do an acrobatic move before going on. It's the first time we've done a forward roll as part of the choreography.

Q: You made a cameo appearance on the drama "Dream High". Do you have any interest in the acting world?
KHUN: Originally, I wanted to be an actor. This was my first cameo appearance. I don't have time to take acting classes, but I study the techniques when watching movies, so I hope to take on acting in the future. I'll work hard like Taecyeon.

Q: Did you watch your own scene?
KHUN: I did. I didn't appear for long, so it was over really fast. (laughs) I wasn't feeling good during the shoot, so I quickly finished my part in 40 minutes and went to the hospital. Considering the state I was in, I think I did pretty well. (laughs)

Q: Please write down 3 words to describe yourself!
KHUN: Man, passionate, honest

~*WOOYOUNG*~
Born on 30 April, 1989 | 178cm | 65kg

Q: Recommend a movie, book or CD you've enjoyed recently.
WOO: It's not a Korean novel, but I read a famous book called "11 minutes". I recommend it; it's about the love between a man and a woman.

Q: What is your shoe size and vision prescription?
WOO: My shoe size is 27cm. My vision isn't very good, since I wear contacts. I get my prescription from the hospital, so I don't know the exact numbers. (laughs)

Q: What is the most expensive item you've ever bought?
WOO: Instruments like a microphone and an electronic piano.

Q: "Take Off" is the theme song for an anime. What is your favorite anime or manga?
WOO: "Slam Dunk".

Q: Which member would you go to for advice?
WOO: If it's about work, I talk to all the members. If it's about love... I don't have time for that. (laughs)

Q: How much do you have in your wallet right now?
WOO: I don't have yen or won or dollars in my wallet. (laughs) I don't really use cash. When I want to buy drinks, I use a card. (laughs)

Q: If you had a girlfriend, what present would you give her?
WOO: I've never done this before, but I want to put on a pretty necklace for her.

Q: What would you like your girl to cook for you?
WOO: Juk (porridge). During the New Year, my parents came and cooked juk for me. If my parents can't come over, it'll be great if my girlfriend would make it.

Q: If someone said they'd give you a year's worth of OO, what would you ask for?
WOO: My exercise tee stretches out very quickly, so I'd like to have a lot of those.

Q: What's on your cellphone's display screen?
WOO: I have an audio wallpaper (it's written as "music feel my soul"). I occasionally change my wallpaper, and it's usually to landscapes related to vintage cars or music.

Q: What aspect of your personality or lifestyle do you think you need to improve on?
WOO: I'm often with my members, so I'm not very good at hanging out with people outside the group. If I had the time to meet friends, I'd rather use it to rest. I do want to see them, but I can't really do it.

Q: Do you have any other good friends in the entertainment industry?
WOO: I worked with SNSD's Taeyeon-san on a variety show before, so we're a little close. There aren't many others aside from that.

Q: Your kiss scene with IU-san in the drama "Dream High" became a hot topic.
WOO: The director told me to press my lips on hers and make it a real kiss, but I firmly said that I couldn't do it. Because we're both quite shy. (laughs)

Q: Tell us about your bonus video, "Face washing", in your concert DVD.
WOO: That was my idea; I did it because I thought it'd be interesting, and that fans might enjoy it. I think we look our most natural when we show how we spend our daily lives.

Q: Please write down 3 words to describe yourself!
WOO: Fish, rhythm, Wooyoung.

JUNHO: The focus is the catchy move that symbolizes "take off"!

Q: "Take Off" is the theme song for an anime. What is your favorite anime or manga?
JUNHO: "Doraemon", "Hajime no Ippo", "BLEACH".

Q: If you could be a music video director, which 2PM song would you like to shoot?
JUNHO: I hope to someday shoot a futuristic music video of one of my own song compositions.

Q: Which member would you go to for advice?
JUNHO: Chansung. We get along, and he always listens quietly to my problems.

Q: How much do you have in your wallet right now?
JUNHO: I only have receipts in here, not money. (laughs)

Q: If you had a girlfriend, what present would you give her?
JUNHO: I want to give her something she needs, not something that would surprise her. I'll ask her what she needs, and remember the items she uses everyday, or the things she finds cute. That's what I'll consider for her present.

Q: What would you like your girl to cook for you?
JUNHO: My favorite kimchi fried rice would be great.

Q: If someone said they'd give you a year's worth of OO, what would you ask for?
JUNHO: I'll use every single bit of whatever I get, but... cereal I guess. (laughs)

Q: What do you think you need to improve on?
CHAN: I like doing things on my own, so I think I lack cooperation skills and the understanding of group behavior.

Q: If you could be a music video director, which 2PM song would you like to shoot?
CHAN: I want to shoot a drama-like MV for "Heartbeat".

Q: What's your favorite anime or manga?
CHAN: "One Piece", "Dragonball", "Kiseijyu" (T/N: officially translated as "Parasyte" in English).

Q: What kind of flowers would you send to someone?
CHAN: Baby's breath.

Q: When you appeared as a guest on the drama "Dream High", did you have a kiss scene?
CHAN: It was originally supposed to be a hug, but the director suddenly changed it. I was shocked, but it turned into a much better scene because of that, so I'm happy with it.

Q: Compliment each member with one phrase.
CHAN: Wooyoung... witty. Junsu... has outstanding talent. Nichkhun... very considerate. Junho... manly. Taecyeon... I'm comfortable and close to him.

Q: Please write down 3 words to describe yourself!
CHAN: Cheerful, gloomy, diverse.

Individual handwritten messages from 2PM members
2PM has debuted in Japan with "Take Off"! Just like the lyrics that encourage people to work towards their dreams, the boys have messages for people who are impatient or who have fallen into depression as their efforts fail to get them any closer to their dreams.

KHUN: Take a break when you're frustrated. You'll feel better when you start again after that.
JUNHO: Everyone's uneasy! That's how people grow. We won't mature if we don't experience uneasiness!
TAEC: If things aren't going well, it might be because you're missing something! Make use of your failure to find out what that missing thing is and I'm sure you'll succeed!
CHAN: Keep trying, keep believing, and your dream should come true!
WOO: I'm also trying to overcome my own battles day after day. Please keep running to the very end. Please enjoy yourself too, and work harder than everyone else.
JUNSU: Always challenge yourself with a positive mindset!

Off-Camera Photo Collection
We've scored a close-up interview with 2PM while they're in Japan in February ~ March! Have a brief introduction of the scenes behind the interview, which was held in a studio within the city.

A playful Nichkhun poses with a peace sign. Sometimes he smiles too much!
KHUN: Take a cute shot, okay!

A: A morning interview. We began with Wooyoung, who arrived first. He tells us that he hasn't eaten breakfast yet. (cries)
B: Nichkhun having his solo shot taken. His legs are long even when he's lying on the floor!
C: A solo shot of Junsu, who was in a good mood for the whole interview.
D: Using the sofa for a group shot. "Where do we sit?" "Do I sit here?" They decide on their positions after a discussion.
E: Once the shooting begins, they pose as though they're relaxing at home. The 6 of them work together seamlessly, their smiles never breaking!
F: Following the cameraman's request for a fun look, the members come up with one pose after another, giving off a "Boys be ambitious" (?) vibe. (laughs)
G: They sneakily play janken (rock paper scissors). Random fact: Nichkhun apparently ate sushi at midnight the day before.

Members' comments on Japanese debut single "Take Off"

JUNSU: It's a number overflowing with exhilaration. This song was a huge challenge for us. Please check out the choreography for the chorus, and of course, the song.
KHUN: I think it's a wonderful song. It's catchy, so it'd be great if everyone could sing along and be charged up by it.
TAEC: It's a fitting song for us, as we debut and "take off" in Japan. I hope everyone will enjoy this new charm point of 2PM.
WOO: At first, I couldn't imagine what kind of song this would turn out to be, but when I listened to the tone generator after all the members finished recording, I was sure that it'd be awesome.
JUNHO: I was a little hesitant at first because the song has a cheerful, refreshing melody different from our usual Korean songs, but it's a very good song, so I absolutely love it now!
CHAN: It may sound simple compared to our Korean songs, but the composition and lyrics have a deep meaning to them, so please listen carefully.

2PM 1st Japan Tour 2011 "Take Off"
2011.5.12 Makuhari Messe Event Hall

2PM's first tour; fans in Makuhari concert go wild!

2PM's Zepp Tour started in Sapporo on 6 May. Their additional concert in Makuhari Messe was held on 12 May. Many people couldn't get their hands on a Zepp ticket, and impatience for the long-awaited concert rippled through the crowd before the performance. When the lights went off and the members flew out on stage with a video, the hall erupted into a wave of screams.

Right from the start, 2PM showed off their powerful dances through familiar numbers like "Don't Stop Can't Stop", "I hate you" and "Without U". Just when we thought the audience was sufficiently heated up, they moved onto a slow number, "I Can't", giving us a feel of their skilled singing. The dialogue between the MC and the members was also quite fun. When the boys greeted the hall, saying, "Hello, we're 2PM!" they went on to introduce themselves in Japanese. "I'm Chansung and despite the way I look, I'm the youngest." "I'm Junsu and I love ootoro (fatty tuna belly)." "I'm Wooyoung and I have tough thighs." In the solo corner, the members demonstrated their multiple talents. Nichkhun sang Utada Hikaru's "First Love" while playing the piano, Junho captured our attention with a sexy dance performance of Usher's "Nice & Slow" and Wooyoung gave us a cool cover of "Like a G6" by FAR EAST MOVEMENT.

After singing "I'll be back", "10 out of 10 (10/10)" and their Japanese debut single "Take Off", they returned to the solos. Junsu appeared on stage in response to everyone's "Junsu~!" chant. His rendition of "Empire State of Mind" swayed the hearts of the audience with his unstoppable, strong vocals. When Chansung did a cover of Rain's "A song to capture you" and exposed his body, the crowd let out especially loud screams. Following that was Taecyeon's refreshing version of GReeeeN's "Kiseki".

As the concert neared the end, they performed "Again&again", and ended the concert with the climax: "Heartbeat-Japanese ver.". Unable to cool their excitement after such a heated dance performance, the audience's calls for 2PM echoed through the hall.

The encore began with heartfelt messages of gratitude to their fans. During the high tempo remix of "I hate you ~ Again&again", Taecyeon, Wooyoung and Chansung even surprised everyone by running through the 2nd floor stands and dishing out fan service!

Finally, Taecyeon's greeting, "Let's Take Off together as we start our journey in Japan!" sent the audience cheering. For the second encore, they sang "Take Off" again, and with the airplane dance, the members became one with the hall. That was how the curtain closed to a passionate and thrilling 2-hour concert by the "beasts".
